As you may recall, back in March, we were thrilled to announce the establishment of the prestigious Rosa Royo Legacy Award, honoring the remarkable legacy of Rosa Royo, the esteemed Director of Workers' Compensation for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Her unwavering commitment to promoting employee wellness has earned her the utmost admiration and respect in both her profession and the wider industry.

At Bloom Magazine, our commitment to fostering wellness in the workplace is at the core of our mission. It is with great pride that we introduced the Rosa Royo Legacy Award, created to celebrate and recognize risk managers who embody Rosa's outstanding criteria for excellence in promoting employee well-being.

Now, as we find ourselves in August, we want to remind you that Nominations for the Rosa Royo Legacy Award 2024 are still open! We encourage you to put forward risk managers who share Rosa's vision and dedication to promoting employee well-being.

Through her groundbreaking work with the Rebuilding Me program, Rosa has set a new standard for employee wellness initiatives. Her exceptional leadership and devotion to designing successful programs for the betterment of her colleagues' lives have had a profound impact on the industry and the individuals she has touched.

Rosa Royo's efforts with the Rebuilding Me program have significantly reduced Workers' Compensation claims and improved the health of her colleagues. Her dedication has resulted in a remarkable decrease in lost time days, from 77,000 to approximately 25,000 lost time days per year. Her achievements are an inspiration to us all, and it is our privilege to have this prestigious award named in her honor.
