OM is announcing the upcoming release of the Center of Excellence (COE) Designation, scheduled to open in February.

Developed by OM in partnership with employers, carriers, physicians, and clinical experts, the COE establishes a national standard for quality in workers’ compensation care. It is the first formal designation created specifically for medical practices and physicians treating injured workers.

The COE is a structured, criteria-based designation. It is not a membership and not an award.

Medical practices seeking designation will be required to:

• Submit a formal application

• Meet defined clinical and operational standards

• Complete a comprehensive evaluation conducted by an independent Oversight Committee

The purpose of the designation is to recognize practices that truly understand what it takes to care for injured workers. These are practices that put patient care first, communicate clearly and consistently, understand the workers’ compensation process, document accurately, move cases forward, and focus on helping each patient recover and return to work as safely and quickly as possible.

Full application criteria and instructions will be released when the designation opens in February.

This COE Designation has been created and developed by OM. All guidelines, requirements, and evaluations will follow OM’s official standards and review process. Full criteria will be available in February, and designation will only be granted after the complete OM evaluation is successfully completed.
